see, perceiving is a form of gathering information. whether it be with touch, or smell, or vision, it is still being collected. So really, you dont need just the sense of vision to perceive, you just need a sense. so, any of the other 5 senses work because they too are forms of gathering information. and that point, it is still in the eye of the beholder, even if the eye is not present.
You may be only considering what you think of as physical beauty. For instance there are men out there who really like chubby women and there are women who find the wrinkles in a man's face sexy. In Africa women with long necks are considered the most beautiful and in some Asian country's small feet are most desirable. So the answer to this question is entirely up to the beholder. Thus the term beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I agree with Juefawn, I think it would be on the health of our organs. But for teenagers, it'd be more biased toward the strength and development of our organs, I think. That would be great, the entire world would be that much healthier.Man, what if the transparency of everyone's skin depended on how healthy they were? Clearer: healthier. Man, wouldn't that be deal-breaker, haha. Great question.
But you assume the saying, "Beauty is only skin deep." to be true. Why make that assumption, it has never been proved to be the case. In fact, its meaning is symbolic, like "you can't tell a book by it's cover". Its use is only meant to start us thinking about what our core values really are and how do we validate those values in light of the fact that we are basing them on artificial attributes.
How would "ugliness" be perceived in that same "if" scenario. It is ALL in the EYE of the beholder. There is NO "clear" answer… but more questions. Source(s): My take on Zen, thus far.
well if skin was transparent there are still a lot of ways to judge people based on height, weight, fat content, smell…etc just different internal non skin related stuff

I'd try to look for their inner beauty, and not be so superficial. :]
Health of internal organs. "O baby look at the kidney on that one!" lol
If anyone else says you are, or if your boy-friend finds you attractive.
…by size, weight, height and function…
Check out that one's rack…of ribs.
