How was the beauty standard changed for women?
regular teeth–> bleached white teeth
natural hair–> hair straightened with an iron
healthy weight–> skeleton bodies
natural skin—> skin covered up with make up & burnt by tanning beds
Our eye lashes have to be darker and longer than what they really are, our nails have to be painted over, we have to get rid of all the hair on our bodies except for on our heads, etc…

Well you basically answered your own question…I have a healthy weight, but I'm quite petite. I don't excercise or anything. i have curly hair and hate straightening it. And i have naturally olive skin.So some of your stuff doesn't apply to everyone, you're kind of generalizing. But I agree that people are just so keen on being…unnatural.
Wow, you have no idea how much I agree with you. At my school, everyone who doesn't have tan skin, bleached blonde hair and a face full of makeup is considered unattractive.
It's always been that way. The truth is, men prefer some variety. They don't expect women to conform to one standard. It's women that place these demands on each other.
