How should I wear my hair?

Today we have our winter formal. It is a rich school (however I am not) at a multimillion dollar country club (the tickets were only $20!). My dress is not easy to find online, but it is a floor-length deep blue beauty. Not very wide, but not incredibly skinny. Underneath the bust is a strand of (fake) jewels and from here comes an overlay of the cheaper version of a see-throughish fabric. The top is shirred with this. It is a thin spaghetti strap.
My hair is naturally wavy and comes to about the middle of my bust, or a little under halfway down my back. When brushed it is soft with slight waves and when straightened it comes to right under my bust, so where the jewel line is on my dress. It can form into slight ringlets and curls if I leave it alone long enough however.
Final description: My jaw is square. I have very beautiful natural dark eyebrows that are not too big nor little. My eyelashes are long and dark over big green eyes and I have full and cupid's bow lips. Also, I have a warm-fair (very fair) skin tone and high cheekbones (that's my Cherokee blood!).
I would much prefer to keep as much of my hair down as possible because that's how I roll. If you have any suggestions as to hair (and perhaps makeup?) please do tell.
Thank you!
