Congratulations! Happy birthday too! There is alot of different things dealing with insurance, only a insurance agent from your state could tell you. 1] each state has their own set of laws2] each state has their own limits of liability that you have to carry so that makes your price either go up or down from state to state3] have you been covered under your parents policy4] who's name is going be on the title5] did you have driver's ed in school or from a private school6] the good grades do count with some companies, you will need a copy of your latest report card, or they will have a form for the school to fill out.7] the type of car that you get, make-model- 2 or 4 doors8] what kind of coverage you will be needing, if you are going to be paying notes on the car–they will want you to have comprehensive and collision coverage on the car(which will be high for a 16 year old no matter what state9] if you are a boy or a girl (boys are higher)10] tickets and accidents make the cost go up11] what kind of job you have, if you are going to be using the car to deliver pizza-it needs to be a commerical policy-more money-than say you work at a store or factoryIf you were in my state just for liability -just what the law requires-it would run about $100 a month. Call around to different companies and get quotes, sometimes it can save you alot of money. They are going to ask you just what I listed above, so they can get a price. It takes some time, but it's well worth it…Good luck, and again Happy Brithday! God bless us all…. Source(s): insurance agent 15 years
i got a great deal becuase i dont care about claims and service, only cost and not getting fined. if thats the case 90-150 a month. make sure you lie about milage. if your in cali look for go west insurance
go on family policy
If you are 16 then I'm guessing i would be about $4,500 a year (I'm 17 and mine is about $4,200) So about $375 just for you.I suggest going with your parents and having a family insurance plan.
400.00
That depends entirely upon where you live. Driving a Corolla will certainly help keep your rates down, as will maintaing honor roll grades but it's still going to be expensive.Your best bet would be for your folks to put your car on their policy and list you as an additional driver on it. Their rates will go up a fair amount once you get your license anyway but their rate increase will be MUCH lower than what it will cost you to get your own policy.Nobody here can give you an accurate estimate. You'll need to get your own quotes. Source(s): Been there, done that. Both as a 16-year old and as the parent of one.
I'm 21 and got a car when i was 17. Depending on the car and your agency, You can probably expect to pay 100+ a month. My sister who is now 18 pays 135ish. I paid 120ish when I first got a car. But every year you go accident free, you will get a deduction. Again, this all depends on where you live and stuff… I live in Mass, where the insurence sucks. When I was 20 my payments went down to 70 a month, so this is good incentive to drive safe.
For a 6 month policy (which seems to be the norm) your monthly bill will be 1/6th of the total policy. The cost of the total policy will depend on the various factors such as your address, the number of miles you will drive in a year, and the type of car you are insuring. Your agent can best answer those "What if?" type questions.
