   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters my dad is an insurance agent and so much stuff decides your rate. you're young so it will be very high. it depends on if you have full coverage or liability (if the car is not paid off to the bank, you are required to have full coverage), the exact age of the car, the value of the car, if your family has more then one car sometimes you can get a multi car discount if they are all with the same company. and yes many companies offer good student discounts for 3.0 or higher
