At 16 or 17 you can't have your own policy, since minors can't enter into financial agreements, and insurance is a financial agreement.So your only option is to be added to your parents policy, and since I have no idea who their insurance carrier is, or any other information I'd need to make a guess, just have them call their agent and ask, and you will then have a correct answer to the question.
