We live in North Carolina. I don't know if the insurance companies are doing this all over, but here, a driver from 16 – 23 years of age pays a lot in insurance, but after 18 years it starts to go down. You want to get on an old car, it helps a little. We have our kids on a 1993 and 2005 model cars, so you can see, we've tried to save as much as possible. We started with 125.00 per month with my daughter at 16 years of age. She is now 19 and we are down to $111.00 per month, that's right PER MONTH. It is more for my son. He is 16 and just got his drivers license. We are paying $135.00 per month for him. It will go down a little when he turns 18. We had an assessment done to see if we could get cheaper insurance through other companies. We were told to stay with who we have. My husband and I pay less together for a year than we pay for our kids for a month. It's a rip off the insurance companies fixed. And btw: If they get into an accident and it's their fault, their coverage triples for 3 years. We won't be able to afford it, so we told our kids to be extra careful when they drive or they will have to either pay the difference or give up their license. We'll do what we can for them, but you can see, a new drivers insurance is expensive.
depends on the type of car you will be driving, you need to know that before purchasing insurance. and you are also 16 so the insurance will prob be a lil high. i had a 93 honda civic when i was 18 and it cost me about $100 every month for insurance. it all depends my dear.
That is hard to say because you would have to put more information like what kind of car it is, what coverage you will have etc.. If its a car you just need liability on it won't be that much.
