It also will depend on the type of car/truck, coverages, limits of liability, and driving record. Some companies run credit scores and MOST run a motor vehicle report and CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) report to see about undisclosed accident involvement.The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent or broker. Don't go across town, or to some other city – look for someone CLOSE. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies. An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can.    At 16 you can't have your own policy. You will have to added to your parents policy, and it will depend on which carrier they use for insurance. Have them call the agent and ask.

   Grades will really help, as will taking the 6-hour defensive driving course. I'd say that it'll be approximatly $150/month for you because of your age. It was about that much for my friends and I when we were your age.

   An arm and a leg? I think my husband and I pay $700 every six months for a 2003 Saturn Vue and a 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE. We're married, close to 25(the magic insurance age) and have only one at fault(by a technicality) accident. We get mega discounts because we have a good driver discount, multiple policy discount, and another discount that I don't recall. For you and that car, I'm guessing it might be close to $800-1000 every six months since you're young, that's a luxury car, and either few or no discounts. I would see about maybe getting insurance through your parents policy if at all possible. That would decrease the cost.

   Not cheap. I used http://www.nationalinsurancesite.com/search/ to find my insurance company, which is currently geico. They provide you with a list of the insurance companies based on your zip. Hope they can assist you. Good luck
