Undecided Question

How long does it take road rash to completely heal and look normal again?

I wrecked around December 7th 2009 going only about 15-25 mph while turning onto a highway, in which the rear tire slid out from under me instantaneously. My jacket protected my torso from road rash but my work khakis (on lunch break) didn't hold up against the road. My leg now has a 6 inch long and about a 4 inch wide pink area, where the skin looks kind of raw. You can press on it and it will be white when you let go, but then what I'm guessing is the blood rushing back turns it pink again. My legs have a good bit of hair on them but that whole area is bald. It definitely looks interesting. I want to know how long it'll take for that pink rawness look to go away, and for the skin to heal well enough for hair to start regrowing. I would absolutely hate if the whole area scarred and never regrew hair, but I wouldn't mind just a little scarring. I used some medical cream a doctor told me to use to help it heal when it was fresh. Took about three weeks before the skin was healed enough to just leave it without gauze. Also took antibiotics for what seemed to be a minor infection, but that was taken care of.

So again, my wound is no longer open, but rather just pink raw looking skin and bald. It's been one month since the wreck. The bike has healed quicker than I have!

Would like to hear from bikers who have had road rash also. But of course, any medical experts are welcome too! Thanks for your time.
