How does getting a new state license affect your car insurance?
I have a TN driver license. I have a couple of violations on it. I just moved to SC, and I am going to get a SC driver license. I am going to be buying car insurance soon. When they look up my record off of my new SC driver license, will the violation/accident from my TN driver license show?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Yes. Unlike the DMV records, insurance companies keep a complete record of all your past offenses, not drop them after a certain amount of time. You will be asked about your TN violations when getting SC insurance, and the records will likely be checked.
Yup–if not immediately, they will show up eventually; both states trade driver's info. In fact, since your SC license will be new, the insurer may ask for your TN number, too, and they will definitely show up there; so best be up front about the tickets Insurance companies don't like it when you leave out important info.
