How do I heal a finger AFTER finger piercing has been removed?
I got my finger pierced six months ago & it was okay in the beginning but eventually just started to look red & irritated. I asked my piercer & he said it was just inflamed from me hitting it on things. I finally decided to take it out on my own, which I do not recommend, but honestly, I was just sick of how gross it looked. (The pain wasn't bad, just uncomfortable. Also, made me extremely nauseous.) Anyway, now I need advice on the healing process. I don't care so much about the holes in my finger, I know they're going to leave scars, it's just the swollen, red area around the skin. Not attractive. I just want it to look semi-normal. Is neospirin okay? Hydrogen peroxide? Remember: there is no longer a piercing.

Since now it is considered an open wound basically just treat it as a scratch and it should heal fine. Source(s): :]
