How do i answer this question about car insurance?
My sister and i are on the loan for a car that I'm driving. We have insurance but im not on it. I want to put it under my name now, but when i get a quote online they ask if i've been insured for the past 2 or3 years i dont know what to say. Yes because the car HAS been insured or no because it was not under my name. Can i even get insurance if her name is on the loan too??
Thanks in advance

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters You haven't been insured, simple. all the rest is just talk. Just pray you aren't pulled by a cop. Source(s): Ol' '55
Say yes it may save you money. The company will see that you have been insured so they will believe you to be a responsible person and less of a liablilty -therefore cheaper to insure.. If they are thorough they will ask you more–if not you are just saving yourself money and if the question isnt thorough that has nothing to do with you. you are answering truthfully- you have been insured ( just through someone else. (no biggie)
No, the question is whether you have had insurance it has nothing to do with your car your insuring, they want to see if you are a first time insurer or have insurance or where dropped by another company. if you say yes then you personally will have to have purchased insurance before & with out dropping it before buying new insurance. Hope this helps, insurance does suck, but you need it.
The answer is you haven't been insured.Have you tried these comparison sites? They are the fastest I know, you'll get a price in 5 minutes:http://car-insurance.moneysavecenter.com…http://car-insurance.moneysavecenter.com…
Get your sister to add you as a secondary driver to her policy. Much much cheaper that way. Then later on when your asked this question again, you can say yes.
gotta go with it the way it is/lein holder has the say/you cannot upset the deal until the car is paid off
"We have insurance but im not on it" = YOU have not been insured.Yet you've been driving…..
