How come I haven't been forced to buy car insurance?
I keep hearing from some people on here that the government forces us to buy car insurance. How come nobody has forced me to buy it?? My roommate also doesn't have car insurance. We live in the city and take public transportation so we always thought we didn't need to buy car insurance. Are we breaking the law?
Also, my brother lives in New Hampshire and he drives a car but said he doesn't have car insurance!! Is he breaking the law?

When you don't have a car, you don't have to have car insurance. In the same way, when you're dead, you won't be required to have health insurance.I live in New Hampshire. You are still required to provide proof that you can pay out, in the event of an accident. Frankly, it's easier to just have insurance:"New Hampshire law does not require you to have automobile insurance. However, you must satisfy the NH Financial Responsibility requirements to operate a vehicle in New Hampshire. These minimum limits are 25/50/25: bodily injury of $25,000 per person; $50,000 for 2 or more persons; and Property Damage of $25,000. A $75,000 single limit policy will also satisfy the minimum requirement." http://www.superiorcarinsurance.com/CarI…
Yes on both accounts. However, there is a difference. Car insurance protects drivers from the negligence of others. If you are in a wreck where the other driver is at fault who doesn't have insurance…you are protected medically, from personal property damage, and liability to extend your coverage allows. You only find out that the other party doesn't have insurance in a wreck. That's when the legal charges are brought up. Illegals don't carry insurance either.Medical insurance. Taking care of you is your responsibility and not the responsibility of everyone else. Since the government has no money of it's own it takes all it's money from people like me.It's like saying….my neighbor needs to pay for my health insurance, my food, my kids schooling….I don't have part of it.Some think thats wrong…I'm among them.
Sounds like you are your roommate don't own a car so you don't need car insurance. You brother on the other should have car insurance. Accidents happen so its better to be safe than sorry. Insurance rates are can be found for very reasonable rates on the Internet. One site that I found cheap rates is at http://www.justinsurancequotes.com Source(s): http://www.justinsurancequotes.com
You are only required to buy car insurance if you own a car. In most states if you have a vehicle registered in your name, you are required to have vehicle insurance. Auto insurance laws are enforced by State Governments, not the Federal Government. The trick is that one does not purchase auto insurance for themselves, but to protect them from financial loss due to the actions, (or stupidity) of others,
As you know nobody is forced to drive. Here is a fun fact for liberals, in Wisconsin you're not required to have car insurance. It has been like that forever, unfortunately in 2010 they're changing it though.
In my state, you have to show you have insurance in order to get your license plates. If you want to own and drive a car, you are forced to buy insurance.
You need car insurance if you drive a car. You and your roommate are ok. Your brother in NH is breaking the law, and will also be up sh*t creek if he gets into an accident.
Just wait until you are forced to buy auto insurance because you Might someday buy a car—I think Pelosi and Reid are trying to get this nation threat to our security addressed as well!
They don't understand you are messing with them………
You aren't the brightest bulb around, are you?
