How can i live out of my van and avoid car insurance?
i want to live the simple life out of my van but i dont wanna run the risk of getting it towed or me getting fined for not having insurance…is there a way to basically be a hobo with a car?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters yeah, park it in some private out of the way non-public place. But in that case it is better to get a tent.
You'll probably have to register your car as non-operational. You won't be able to drive the vehicle, nor will you be allowed to park on a public street. If your vehicle still runs, and you want to be able to drive around freely, you will have to have insurance. If you hit another car, your insurance will be the one to pay for the damages. If you're not going to be moving around as much, you can probably work with your insurance companies to reduce the rate. For example, if you only drive 7500 miles per year, as opposed to the average 10,000 miles per year, you might be able to get a discount (since the van won't be on the road as much, and thus will be less likely to be involved in an accident).
If you're driving it, you need insurance. If you're parking it on a public road, you need license plates. Other than that, you're home free.Enjoy.
yeah if you can set the state minimum aside for a Certificate of Deposit in lieu of a bond so after saving a few hobo pennies you will be already to go after not paying for any of your other bills
based upon your situation,I think you should find something useful here http://www.AutoInsuranceIdeas.info/auto-insurance-free.htm
well seeing that you want your car to be your home, you would want it insured in case of theft, vandalism or fire.
no.Insurance is only like $40 a month…surely you can afford that.
Stay on private property and don't drive it.No problems then.
