How Can I Convince My Dermatologist To Help With My Skin?
What can i say to make them help me? ..
i visited a derm and talked about my premature wrinkles at age 22… which is not normal. and he didn't offer help, just told me to go to the beauty shop and ask. But the thing is i have psoriasis patches on my face, and he doesn't believe me and say its not. When it clearly is, and i even show him pictures to prove it… if its not patches then why does it look flake and its always there? ..
anyways, we ended up arguing… and so he didn't help me! Im referrred to a different dermatologist now, but i hope this other one can help me. Whats wrong, why they not help me?

Don't worry; not ALL dermatologists are like him!
The guy I see is absolutely fantastic! He's so nice, and he really knows his stuff. I usually hate going to any doctor, but I don't have a problem going to dermatologist visits. My advice for you is this: Go see the other derm. Just forget about the old doctor. Obviously he didn't find your problems worthy of his time (why ARE some doctors so snooty?) and you deserve better than that! You deserve the best!Be sure to explain what is going on to your new doc, and be very kind and patient with him/her (s/he'll have no reason to get in an argument with you). Don't be afraid to tell him/her what you think; no one knows your skin better than you. If s/he has a problem with that, then try try again
Good luck and I'm glad you care enough to go see a dermatologist..many people don't when they need to!
Psoriasis is a very specific autoimmune disease, and it needs to be diagnosed by a dermatologist or rheumatologist, and you may be mistaking dry, patchy, flaky skin for psoriasis. Go to the 2nd Dermatologist and tell him/her your concerns. But without proper diagnosis and possible testing, you cannot be certain you have psoriasis. Very dry, flaky skin can be very annoying and difficult to get under control, but with help you can do it. I hope you have better rapport with this next physician.
Why wouldn't you believe him? He's the one who has been in medical school for over 12 years. You may just have extremely patchy dry skin, which can sometimes be bad enough to look like psoriasis. He didn't offer you anything for wrinkles because you are 22. He's right that you need to consult a beauty expert of some kind and get their suggestion for preserving your skin as you age so that it can stay looking young. When you told him he didn't know what he was talking about with the psoriasis issue, he was probably completely insulted. Its not that he didn't want to help you; he probably didn't feel there was anything he could do for you. When you go the doctor and you're not going to believe them, why even go.
