Help with foundation for really dry skin?
i have really dry skin, like loose flaky bits but that are still attached. when i use foundation, it makes my skin look drier, and you can easily see the flaky bits =[
i moisturise, drink plenty of water and exfoliate but this doesnt seem to help
i have used shiseido moisture mist beauty cake foundation applied with a damp sponge
also maybellines pure makeup with 50% water
but both dont help. they even out my skin tone, but when people are close, they see the dry skin flakes
would revlon colourstay foundation be good?
also, that foundation is best applied with a brush but when i use brushes on my face, they pick up the dry skin and kinda lift them up so it looks really bad
what can i use?
also, just wondering, how long would it take for you to buy that revlon foundation on 16 year old minimum wage? i think the prices in New Zealand are ridiculously high. it would take me 3 hours. if you answer this, please tell me what country you're in too.
thanks!

I live in the USA and recently have struggled with the problem you just described. Here's what I suggest as a skin care routine: a moisturizing cleansing cream AM and PMin AM use a moisturizing lotion or cream with an SPF of at least 15once to twice a week exfoliate with a nondrying scrub (don't use the ones made for acne prone skin), then follow immediately with a moisturizing maskin PM use an extra rich night cream, underneath you can massage on Vitamin E oil for extra moisture if you wantSince you are in New Zealand, I am not positive what products are available to you. You'll want to look for ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Jojoba oil, vitamin E, Sweet Almond oil, and Glycerin. After doing this routine for 2 weeks my skin has improved drastically and I no longer have the weird flakes on my skin that show up as soon as I put on makeup.
hey im in the uk and i think the best thing you can do for your skin is not wear foundation for a while, this could be what is actually causing your skin to be like this and if it isnt wearing foundation certainly wont help it, however if you want a good foundation for your skin, go for one which is low coverage because it will be less thick and cakey and more smooth. I reckon the cheaper brands are the best, make sure you moisturise just before putting foundation on and try not to exfoliate too much, only once a week because this can dry your skin out, always moisturise after it. e45 cream is good for dry skin as it is meant for eczema. I hope this helped. (: Source(s): I work at boots (makeup)
