   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters No fault insurance covers your vehicle no matter who is at fault (up to your insurance coverage limitations). It also covers you for any injuries automatically so you don't have to wait for the insurance companies to settle who's at fault until the medical bills get paid.In other words, it basically means that if you're involved in an accident where damage, injury, or both occur, you have to deal with your own insurance company to make a claim. Doesn't matter if you're at fault, or the other person. Also limits lawsuits that you can file for an accident.Fault is always determined in an accident, whether there's an injury or not. They'll sometimes find each driver at a percentage of fault. Just for example, say you didn't brake fast enough, or didn't honk your horn, so you'd be at 20% fault.    No-fault does not necessarily mean there is nobody assigned fault, and it does not mean your vehicle is repaired without assigning fault. It depends on the laws where you are. In some areas, like Manitoba, no-fault has nothing to do with vehicle damage, and is applied to injury claims. Without knowing where you are, a proper answer cannot be given to you. Sorry.    KY is a no fault state. when you have an accident they do not assign whose fault it is, but instead your insurance company will take care of your car and the other guys will do the same.Now this is regarding non-injury accidents. If there are injuries then I believe fault is still assigned and the party in fault will have to have his insurance pay for the medical bills.Luckily, I haven't had to check this out, but I think that is the way it works. If I'm wrong someone else will straighten me out.
