Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Of course they check. And paying your fine to get it unsuspended won't make it valid for the time you had the accident. If you were driving without a license and had an accident, they will say you should not have been driving, and if you hadn't been there would not have been a claim, and deny your claim.
You bet they check your driving record. Your license is suspended ONLY over an unpaid speeding ticket!?? That's lucky – and also foolish. By delaying, they just charge more and more and more to pay it off.For instance the speeding ticket was just a couple hundred bucks and maybe traffic school. But now it's more, as you know. Next time you get stopped by a cop, they will arrest you, and it'll be thousands of $ to get off the hook. If you keep blowing it off — jail. No kidding. So stop waiting for it to get cheaper, lol! Pay it off ASAP. Use cable TV money, fast food money whatever it takes.Once the ticket is handled and your license reinstated, file the claim.
For automobile insurance the best way to get a good rate is do a rate comparison on car policies. Make certain that you pick similar policies with the same deductibles, auto make, location, etc so that all things are a good comparison. What I most often recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have top name insurers and can give multiple quotes on car insurance polices.
Yes they do…Once in a while the adjuster will drop the ball and not check…not often though…As it is they look for any excuse not to pay claims..However, it depends how long ago your license was suspended. It might not show yet..if they process your claim before it shows. It takes a while for it to come up..sometimes the courts screw up too.Employees are only human and forget to file the paper work/upload in system so even though its on paper..sometimes it doesn't go in the system. If it was suspended and they deny your claim then you can request a refund of your premium paid because they actually cancel your insurance back to the original license suspension date. If the vehicle was parked or (hit and run accident/non-moving collision..I don't believe the status of your license should matter because you were not driving the car. And in most states if not all you're required to carry insurance whether you own a car or not..because they know that you may still end up driving a borrowed vehicle. If the vehicle was parked when hit you can file a claim under un-insured motorist and it will not affect you the same way.Deductible for un-insured is normally lower than collision & or comprehensive coverage. The worst that can happen is the deny the claim. To find out your rights and or file a complain on your insurance company…you can ask the Insurance Board or Department of Insurance in your state. They oversee insurance companies and their practices, help the consumer and answer questions…They normally have a website…I get about 2 speeding tickets per year and none are on my record..I pay a portion of the fine 50% and sign up for defensive driving…keeps my record clean and insurance premiums lower because most insurance companies with discounts for taking a defensive driving course once a year.Good Luck… Source(s): 9 years in car business & dealing with insurance companies…Mechanic @ my Job had License suspended but they never filed it..he was able to get a state inspector license while his DL was suspended…isn't that something…
I guarentee you they will check to see if it was suspended during the time of the accident. If it was, they will probably pay you nothing. If your lucky, they may just lower the amount of the settlement.
