   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Use the toner after the cleanser, and before any other face creams- like lotions or gels. Use the lotion, after any other products like gels, serums, or toners. So apply the lotion after the clearing gel soaks in. You may not need the lotion after after the gel at all if your skin is oily.FYI- Toners are pointless. They are all water with some fillers thrown in. It does not make their skin care system more effective, and doesn't do anything special. It's all hype. Source(s): cosmetologist.
