Can you help me name my book and character?
Its about this orphan who gets sent to live with this lady when she is six months old. On her first birthday she gets sent a parcel which has a scorpion inside it. The scorpion tries to kill her but it doesn't and it kills the lady she's living with then runs away. And a deadly present is sent to her each year killing the person she lives with but never her; until no-one will have her. Then on her 14th birthday (when she's living in a care home) she gets a map, that leads to an underwater forest. And in the middle of this forest is a clearing. In this clearing time is really messed up, sometimes going quickly, and other times crawling by. At one point she spends so long there, when she comes out it's her 15th birthday and someone has been sent to kill her. She escapes back to the clearing, but the hit man follows her. He follows her back to the clearing and stabs her, and just leaves her there to bleed to death… Not the happiest of, plots, but anyway….
The girl herself, is very quiet and misunderstood. If she says something, no one understands her. She has a strange, quirky personality. The type that gets branded "Freak" at school. She's pretty in a strange way, tall, lean and frail with pale, slightly transluscent skin. She has deep, honey eyes and jet black hair that hangs around her shoulders in thin layers.
Names would be really appreciated! 10 Points for the most helpful reply! Thanks!!!

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters That's an AMAZING plot for a book. I have one question though…Is this a short story, or a full length book? If you want it to be a short story, than you can just keep it as it is. If you want it to be longer, than maybe you shouldn't end it right then and there, you know? A good title could be "The Underwater Forest" or maybe "The Clearing of Angels". Personally, I like "The Clearing of Angels" because whenever the girl goes there, something miraculous happens, like time changing, etc. A name for the girl could be Felicity, so the title could be "Felicity's Clearing". I don't know if you like that particular name, and if you don't than you can go online and look up names for girls, or you can make one up (thats what I sometimes do). Good luck with your writing, because it sounds like it has true potential.
"Curse of the orphan" or "orphans curse"?This really is a very creative story idea.and if you leave it with a sad ending, it leaves you with the ability to have sequels.

Christina's Cursehow about a happy ending!? (he could stab her with a knife with a scorpion shaped handle)I quite like the idea of that story. good imagination!!
hmm, well judging by your description im guessing you want an unusual name to reflect her character? You could always go for fate? Suits your plot line quite well lolI think that Freya is a nice name, quite unique? Luanne/ Luanna?Adia?Avia?Bryony?Tyne?i could go on… or you could take quite a normal name, like ivy for example, and spell it slightly differently like ivie? But my advice to you is to go on a baby name website and get some ideas from there.http://www.allgirlbabynames0o0com/ <— if you go on that and scroll down to the bottom there is a list of names by origin, you might be able to find a suitable name from there. i hope ive helped

Your initial idea suggests a plot development – why not link the killings to zodiacal creatures? You've mentioned a scorpion – perhaps you could have someone else killed in some way by others, eg a lion. Maybe the girl herself could be a Virgo, giving you the title. Maybe her name could be something like Zodiac. Anyway, don't get hung up on the character's name – she'll tell you what it is when you write the book, and probably change it along the way. Have a working title but again publishers often suggest their own.Good luck.
