   first off you can NOT get a non owners policy if you live in a household where there is a vehicle! Since this is obviously the case, you need to be added to your parents policy as a driver. This will cover you to drive ANY of the autos on their policy. They CAN list you as a primary driver on one of the autos for rating purposes but you are covered to drive ALL the cars on the policy!    Yes, you can get non-owner's insurance to be used when you drive other people's cars. But this will only cover you when you are driving other people's cars, not your own. If you live at home or if you go home regularly, the cars would be part of your household and you wouldn't be covered on them.

   An insurance plan with you & your parents should be able to cover you on all vehicles, but your parents should insure you primarily under the oldest/cheapest car they have so that it won't cost them/you as much–even though you may drive others. I have heard of people buying junkers to sit in the yard just to keep insurance costs low for their teenagers.

   Your parents would have to list you on their auto policy in order for you to drive their vehicles.Otherwise, you could get what they call a "non-owners policy". this is where you pay to drive other peoples cars.    Yes, you can….it's called non owners policy. If you don't have a car of your own, it insures you in any vehicle you drive.

   you can get a non owners policy that will not cover you if you are driving, but it usually costs as much as regular insurance
