Undecided Question
Can someone help me find out what skin type I have and what products to use?
I take quizzes online and they say normal/sensitive or normal/combination.
I can't use scrubs without looking pink irritated. I get dry patchs of skin on my face after going outside in the cold. You can't see through my skin. My skin looks beaten from the cold and I always have pimples. My pores are visable and I'm going through puberty. Sometimes I feel oily on my face.
I feel oily after I use OIL FREE sunscreen, too. Can someone help me with my skin care routine because I only use soap.

Well you shouldn't only use soap because sometimes its not gentil on your skin. I think you should try cetaphil or La Roche Posse. I use La Roche Posse and it works amazing! If neither of those work then go see your dermatoligist and he will prescribe something for you to use.
The soap could be your problem. Soap strips skin of it's natural oils, and in return our skin overproduces oil to try and compensate. Oil is actually a part of our skins natural barrier function which protects against bacteria, so by stripping this it can also leave your skin prone to breakouts. Moisturizer is also an important step in keeping our skin from over producing oil.The fact that your pours are visible does indicate oily skin. However based on the rest of your description, it sounds like you have naturally sensitive skin. I would recommend you try Dermalogica's Ultra Calming Cleanser for a face wash and Barrier Repair for Moisturizer. Initially the products will heavy because you are not used to it. You might not feel like your skin is 'clean' since you associated that with the tight stripped feeling that soap gives, but I promise this cleanser is getting your skin clean. You may also initially experience some extra breakouts. This is just your skin clearing out the grime that has built up from a poor skin care regimen, although not everyone goes through a breakout phase. To find the products, go to dermalogica0o0com. You can buy the product straight from the website, or the website can tell you who in your area sells Dermalogica. I would recommend finding a professional who sells it. They should be able to give you a complimentary skin analisys to tell you exactly what your skin type is, and to make sure which products in the line will be best for you.Good Luck! I think you have combination skin and sensitive skin.- Combination if you have oil on your t-zone (forehead, nose, and chin) and the rest is either normal or dry. The oil from those areas may also probably contribute to your pimples.- Sensitive because your skin gets irritated easily, the scrubs and weather. SOAP IS REALLY BAD, especially if it contains SLS / SLES, bad sulfates. Your skin is very dry from that and sometimes when your skin is over-dried your oil glands tends to produce more sebum(oil).Try switching to a gentler cleanser. Make sure they don't contain fragrance, colorings, and too many ingredients. Try searching around google in the shopping area for organic cleansers for sensitive skin / combination skin. Buy a toner that doesn't contain alcohol, like maybe witch hazel / floral waters / aloe vera. Just to remove any residues and sets your skin's pH. Oh yeah, make sure the products you buy are pH balanced. Then you MUST get a moisturizer, has to be for combination skin though. Make sure it has no fragrance and colorings. so a good skin care routine would beCleanserTonerMoisturizerthen your sunblock is you wanttry searching around google for organic / natural products. make sure you drink water to keep your skin hydrated and get enough SLEEP. sleep is so important for the skin along with water.
