Can I share my dad's car insurance in a different state?
I am under my dad's car insurance plan. He lives in NY and I recently moved to Florida. Can I remain in his plan? (It's with Liberty Mutual) Or is there a company that does this?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters No. Once you have established Florida as your permanent residence [I can't remember how many days you need to be there, 60 or 90] you will need to register the vehicle in Florida, and for this you will need Florida auto insurance.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. As long as it is paid for every month (or however your payment plan is) then it should be fine. You should call the insurance place just to make sure though!
