Best Answer – Chosen by Voters My bank (Citibank) allows me to pay just about any company and any individual via my on line banking system. Depending on your insurance company you may be able to do it on their website, although it usually takes a few (business) days to process either via your own bank account or directly on their website. In most cases, for a quicker credit, you can also call the insurance company and pay over the phone using a bank ATM/debit card, but be aware that by paying over the phone you may have to pay extra processing charges (usually only a couple of dollars). You can also contact the insurance agency to let them know you have made payment on line and it should process in a day or so…they will usually be able to make a note on your account although you may be without insurance for the day(s) between when you made payment and when the payment is processed.
A few insurance companies will allow you to do this. Most won't. It depends on who the insurance company is. If you have an agent, most of the time you can make the payment to your agent, and it counts as if the company received it. Get a dated receipt. Source(s): agent, 21+ years
