   Best Answer – Chosen by Voters There is such a thing as a driver's only policy. I see them only incredibly rarely and I would consult an independent agent. Compare the cost with that of buying an old clunker as was suggested, that may be cheaper! Source(s): Claims adjuster

   Okay, I have two cars (2003 Accord & a 1999 Bmw 323i). I have basic liability for both cars for my wife and I as drivers, plus $25,000 additional liability coverage on the cars.We just paid $427 for an entire year for the same car insurance company we were already paying around $2,000 for before!
