Can i get a courtesy car cover separate to my insurance?
i have been offered a very good deal on my car insurance. The only problem is there is no courtesy car cover. Can i get a separate courtesy car cover from a different company along side with the insurance quote. Or is it best to book one if only i have a car accident?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters A courtesy car if yours is in the shop? Why not simply choose a shop that furnishes a free loaner? Then you don't have to worry about a rental/courtesy car
Did you ask your agent if you could add the courtesy car coverage to you policy? Try that first. No auto insurance company would want to write a courtesy car coverage policy by itself. You can try another agent and just say you want that coverage on your policy. When I worked in the insurance field, as long as you had comp and coll, I always included towing and courtesy car coverage to my quote and then to the policy. Hope this helps.
Are you asking about a rental car? Most policies have rental car coverage unless you are only buying liability, then in effect you would not need since your auto insurance would not pay for any damages to YOUR car if in accident, regardless at fault. But say you are in an accident and you are not at fault. Then the other drivers insurance company would owe for your car damages and while in the shop for repairs, they would also owe you a rental car to drive. If you are looking for coverage for a rental while on vacation and not in an accident, most auto policies will cover the rental car for the same coverage you have on your own auto. You cannot just buy rental car coverage only. good luck
Believe it or not, it does actually cost an insurance company to provide a courtesy car after an accident – even through one of their approved repairers. As it costs money then this is reflected in the price – so I think you should amend the first paragraph to 'I have been offered a cheap car insurance policy' – As the policy does not meet your requirements I would hardly call it a 'good deal'.
Hi – it is quite easy to get a dedicated courtesy car-only insurance product if the garage or your own insurance doesn't cover you. For example, a quick Google search shows up: http://www.insuredaily.co.uk/uses/courte…or http://www.insurecarhire.co.uk/Typical costs can be as low as £6.00 per day plus IPT (Insurance Premium Tax).Hope this helps,RMI ExpertsUPDATE: Insurance Premium Tax should be around 5% Source(s): GoogleRMI Experts
I don't understand the question!! I've never known an Insurer that won't provide a courtesy car. All fully comp policies have that option, it just costs a bit more. Unless you only have 3rd party cover get your insurer to quote for it. I can't see another company offering this type of cover on it's own.
Lucy is right, if you're talking about public liability coverage for a temporary substitute car; if you mean rental reimbursement coverage, you can add that to your current policy for a price. Ask your agent/company about it.
less of a policy is less money/its that simple
