   Technically, there are ways of doing this. However, most auto insurers only sell a 6 month, or an annual policy.If Grandma holds the vehicle title in her name, the insurance policy will have to be listed in her name, and grandson as a driver. Once the policy is started, you can choose to pay it in full, quarterly, or monthly in most cases. If you choose monthly, you'll probably have to put an extra month down, a 'reserve' month, if you will. I'm not sure what state you are in, but in Texas, it is based on pro-rata. So, if you pay for two months, and you only use one month, you can cancel the policy and get the amount you have overpaid back. If you tell the insurance company you are only wanting insurance for a month, they may not let you. I'd try a non-standard company like progressive. They may be able to help you.Good luck.    Possible? yes but If I were doing it, I think I would take it for 6 months and then cancel it when you get back and get a (prorated) refund. It will probably be cheaper than just getting a one month policy. BTW, cars are insured not drivers. so Anyone can buy insurance for anybodys vehicle. So you will be insuring grandmas car and if she gives you permission to drive it, you, the car and your passengers are covered

   you can get a bond what that does is it insures the driver not the car but yes you can purchase for a month only and any car you drive you as the driver are insured
