Can I buy car insurance BEFORE buying a new car?
My father wants to transfer a used car to my name. If I buy insurance now (I have VIN #) before the car is transferred into my name, will the insurance be valid once the car is transferred into my name? Or can I only purchase the insurance after the car has been transferred into my name?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Yes you can, try this sitehttp://ginsurance.notlong.comhere you can get quotes from different companies in your area.
yeah for sure you would be. but if any damage happen to the vehicle before its transferred to your name, not a single dollar would be transferred to you. Actually they will be happy to give you a insurance as there isnt any risk for THEM, until you buy your car. Source(s): http://www.AutoInsureUSA.info
Yes, you can buy insurance before buying a new car. Just make sure the insurance policy date starts the day you get the car. You can find details about car insurance at http://car-insurance.tipsvilla.com Source(s): http://car-insurance.tipsvilla.com/
You can typically buy the insurance. Most companies have a start date for the policy, so start it the day you intend to pickup the car.
correction….you need to buy insurance before buying a vehicleinsurance coverage usually starts the day you pay bill and overlapping means nothing. just double coverage which is hard to collect on if you get into an accident while transferring
Maybe You should google it at first hand ,nevertheless, if you like some direct resource ,here http://www.Autoinsurancepro.infoshould be helpful.
Getting new car insurance is a simple way to save car expense. Get a easy quote online they always give competing prices. I recommend http://www.lowratetoday.com
You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com
