Caffeine for Skin Care?
I know that its proven that Caffeine (liquid creams, etc) work to reduce redness, puffiness, and improve texture. But what if somebody was to take a caffeine pill (generic 200mg Caffeine Cap) and ground it to a fine dust, and mix that with a lotion and apply that to the skin. Would it have the same effect? :p
Sounds stupid, but so does Caffeine cream until you try it

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters No if your going to take caffeine just use the store brands not your own, you might do something wrong and affect your skin forever. Source(s): Btw I wouldnt use any kind of caffeine products for my facial problems. Maybe you should do some research on caffeine and the effects it has on the human body. Good luck
Maybe. Caffeine may be proven to reduce the appearance of redness, puffiness, and improve texture. But who really knows? Caffeine is one of the 2000 compounds that are contained in coffee (i think around there anyway). And so If scientists are studying the effects of COFFEE on the skin they may be assuming that it is due to the caffeine content rather than a different compound. I say this because I have heard that caffeine dehydrates your skin… I'm not sure if it actually does though… But if they are studying Caffeine from both green tea, coffee, and/or other caffeine sources than maybe this is true? I know that both green tea and coffee contain anti-oxidants… I really don't know… I think I should read up on this… hmm… Source(s): science
Yes, you can. I do aspirin masks/scrub using BC headache powder which contains caffeine and have suffered no ill effects (far from it actually, my skin looks amazing and it's even clearing up my severe acne scarring). Michelle Phan (aka RiceBunny) has a channel on youtube and a facebook page/group and goes over the aspirin mask as well as other AWESOME beauty tips, I HIGHLY recommend you check her out.
