Bleeding and swollen gums?
Hello, I brush my teeth almost everyday, and usually use listerine. I'm 23, and i see my dentist every 9 months, I last saw them about 8 months ago. I had a big burn on the roof of my mouth, and I pulled the skin off, OUCH!. However since then, ive noticed that my gums have hurt and bleed, there swollen as well, oddly its almost all my gums, not just one or two? This was very sudden, it happened literally in the past 2 days. I currently don't have health care to cover this… I live in Vancouver. Not sure what to do, any tips on the ordeal.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters Well it cant possibly be poor oral hygiene, cause your stating you brush your teeth and use mouthwash. However, if you havent visted your dentist in that ammount of time they could possibly be something wrong, sounds like a gum infection or good perhaps just mean the toothpaste or the listerine your using isnt very good for you teeth, not everything suits everyone. Im no dentist, I just like to try and help.
usually this is a sign of gingivitis but sounds like u take care of your mouth. make sure you floss every day too.could be malnutrition or vitamin deficiency. vitamin C, all B vitamins and folic acid if you dont get enough of those it will cause that.could be an infection too. ask doctor to take a look and see if its oral thrush or possibly did you give oral sex to someone before it started up? could be an std which is on the rise now.oh almost forgot. if you are on immune suppression therapy that can cause that too. are you on chemo? what about something to suppress the immune system if you have an autoimmune disease?
Sounds like Gingivitis, you should be flossing your teeth daily…… food particles and plaque can get under the gums and cause gingivitis which is causing your gums to be inflamed. Floss your teeth and brush regularly and you should be fine Source(s): I'm a dental assistant
