Are you a colon cancer survivor?
Okay, I am physical therapist student and I am doing a huge research project on colon cancer and rehab for a PT grade and for a PT fair where I can earn scholarship money. My mother is a 3x cancer survivor (breast, colon, and skin) and I really wanted to discover the benefits rehab has on these types of patients (colon cancer patients) and get other people's experience on there care/outcome-even if you are not in remission/cured of colon cancer, I still want to hear about what your doing and how you are dealing with the situation (if you do not mind). This project is difficult for me to do, since people's stories really do "hit home for me" considering all the surgeries, chemo, and radiation my mother went through, but I do love hearing them so please tell me your story, or if your interested and don't mind me using you for my project you can e-mail at my extra email address at xonicoleox25425@yahoo0o0com with your story! I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing about everyone's stories!

I just found out I have stage 3 in September, had surgery October 1, and will have my 6th treatment out of 12 on Tuesday. I'm doing great with few side effects (I get tired, but sleeping is one of my favorite hobbies anyway, and my fingers tingle if I hold cold things, which I can avoid). I have a great oncologist thanks to my cousin, who retired as a research oncology nurse and moved here one week before I was diagnosed (when she first announced she was taking me on as her project before she moved here, she had no idea what she was getting herself into). I've tried to participate in any study I can to try to help others in my situation, like one which was testing a stage 4 medicine to see if it also helped stage 3 (it didn't–they canceled the study after my second treatment). The one thing I've noticed is how caring everyone has been. People I barely know have come from out of the woodwork offering help, even my parent's lawyer's mother! And a friend from 30 miles away has offered to take me to chemo if necessary! I seem to be taking this better than everyone around me, maybe because I've always been optimistic, and maybe because I almost died as a child–the doctors gave me no chance of survival, and if I did by some miracle, I'd be nothing but a vegetable for the rest of my life. I proved them right–I became a lawyer. I figured after surviving those odds, I can beat this.p.s., if you need more, you can reach me at crossstitchkelly@ yahoo0o0com
I am cautiously starting to think that I might be. I had a colon cancer removed in February 2005, followed by 6 months chemo; it later spread to my liver & I had that one removed in August 2007. Since then I have had scans every 6 months & blood tests which have shown me clear of disease.I just try to think about it as little as possible & keep busy with other matters.
