Am I the only person who HATES when people say that rodeos are cruel?!?
Rodeos are NOT cruel! yes, there are places where rodeos seem to be very mean and vile…but I'm sure that there are certain rules that need to be followed. Calf roping does no harm to the animal, yes it looks sad, i can barely watch it sometimes, but its not causing them pain. You have to remember that calves, cattle, horses, and bulls have tough skin and strong bones. If they can get in fights and be kicked in the neck by another animal's hoof, i think a little rope has no effect on them GENIUS! I'm all for animal cruelty rights and stuff, but lay off the rodeos…if you have no idea what goes on behind the chutes keep ur mouth shut! And for the record, i read an article that said those genius SHARK people failed to prove rodeos were cruel…so i don't see how people still eat that stuff up. And if you see what goes on behind the scenes, you will understand just how much care goes into those animals. Right after a run, every animal is given water, some time to relax, and care. So much of the profits that rodeo competitors win goes into their livestock that it's not even funny. Sorry, just had to let all the people who don't know what they're talking about and just want to attack innocent people bacuse they think the 'little cow is gunna get hurt' know what really goes on.
Don't believe me about the article? visit http://www.naiaonline.org/articles/archives/no_cruelty.htm and find out for yourself…

The relationship between cowboys and livestock goes way back and it's too bad that some folks can't see the good side of that.I'm sure the calves are frightened, but just think about the story they'll have to tell the other calves when they get back to the ranch. And if the little guy (or gal) were ever threatened by a predator, the cowboy would be the first to protect him or her.And I've never seen a bull get hurt by a cowboy, but many cowboys aren't so fortunate.
I think just like anything there is some good and some bad. Some rodeos are very kind to their animals but there are some that are terrible to them. You just have to find out about each specific rodeo before deciding to support it. Source(s): My grandma is a vegan activist…. I hear all about animal cruelty all day long.
My opinion on animal treatment is that they should only be harmed and killed for defense or food/clothing/some other survival means, respectively. I look at people who go out hunting for sport and such and think that *that* is where the line should be drawn.
Yay, let's chase a frightened baby animal around a ring and then twist its neck till it falls over and can't move. Great sport!http://www.vancouverhumanesociety.bc.ca/…
everyone has their sports and some people are cruel to the animals, just be careful and make sure you are not harming any animals.
