A Q. about Birth control, Acne, Pharmasist, and Doc.s…?
ill be honest, i dont think i care about the $, i want what will actually helP not make my skin worse.
why would these doc. and pharmasits perscribe me all this crap (just b4 hand i was on Aviane) instead of just being frwd and saying hey, what you want is going to cost you. it seems like they are just trying to get me to buy their "equivalent" crap so they dont hold on to it and it expires and they dont make anything off it…m i wrong here?
anywho, if your wondering why i even took the Loestrine if i didnt want them, its because i didnt knwo what the heck they were giving me and didnt have a chance to research it until after. 75% of what i read about it was all neg. feedback.
i want a pill that will help my skin, not kILL my sexdrive or make me feel like im on my period when im not (no heavy spotting). advice?

OTC and OTC LO are the same, except OTC LO has less hormone and is, essentially safer. Less hormone is better for you, just as effective, and regulating hormones with a pill usually helps acne. The 'knock off' brand you speak of, it's cheaper and more readily available, but the SAME THING. They aren't trying to pawn it off on you before it expires. They wouldn't even ask for more supplies of the medication unless they were positively sure they could sell it well before the exp. date.Loestrin CAN aggravate acne, but everyone's body is different and most docs will want to start with low dose meds to be safe. I know I took a low dose pill at first, made me feel like crap. Now, after trying three or so different types, I have a higher dose pill that prevents me from having my period except four times a year and I feel a bazillion times better.
